Rimmel London #FREEYOURFACE*

Hi everyone,

You may have seen pictures on my Instagram that I was lucky enough to receive my first Influenster VoxBox! This VoxBox had complimentary Rimmel London products in for me to try out. I love Rimmel products, I have been using Rimmel products right from when I started wearing makeup. I love Rimmel as a brand as it's so affordable and you can pick their products up really easily. Rimmel have a stand in my local supermarket, so it is super handy if I have run out of one of my favourite products and all the shops are shut in town. A big thumbs up for availability and pricing!

I'll stop rambling and get to the products.

First off is the new Lasting Finish Breathable Foundation.

010 light porcelain, #FREEYOURSKIN, 25hr, SPF 20

I have tried a Rimmel foundation before and it didn't fit my skin tone, so when I received this I was a little worried it wouldn't match up. However, Rimmel have done so well with this! I was so happy that a Rimmel foundation fits my skin tone! I received the shade '010 Light Porcelain', which is the second lightest shade. I would like to try the lightest shade to see which one works best for me.

The Lasting Finish Breathable Foundation offers a buildable light to medium coverage. I was able to achieve both a light coverage and a medium coverage, so I am happy it lives up to what it says. The foundation claims to be moisturising for up to 25 hours. It also has SPF 20 in, even at this time of the year we still need to protect our skin.

The foundation comes with a doe foot applicator, which I have never seen with a foundation before. Obviously it isn't tiny like you get with a lip gloss or with some concealers, it is considerably bigger. This may not be to everyone's liking but I actually quite like that it is something different. I like the fact that it is flexible and rotates, making it easier to get into all the nooks and crannies of your face. I also found the foundation easy to blend. As a nice perk, unlike some foundations I have tried, this one has quite a pleasant smell to it. I love how lightweight the foundation is and yet you are still getting a decent amount of coverage. The 'Breathable skin technology' definitely works for me. You can find this shade and lots of others at superdrug.com for £8.99.

SPF 20, 010 Light Porcelain, #FREEYOURFACE

Next up the Lasting Finish Breathable concealer.

25 hr, 001 Light Ivory, #FREEYOURFACE

I received the shade '001 Light Ivory', this is the lightest shade in this particular concealer. This concealer comes with a little cushion applicator at the end. Again, this is something I haven't personally seen on the end of a concealer, so I was keen to try this out to.

001 Light Ivory, #FREEYOURFACE

I love how well matched the foundation and concealer are. The concealer works well with the foundation to conceal imperfections. The concealer gives a medium coverage, whilst again not feeling heavy at all. I was a little unsure of the sponge to start with, but after a couple of uses it is something I got the hang of. I love the fact I have found a foundation and concealer that are so lightweight it doesn't actually feel like I am wearing any, but I still have that bit of coverage I need to give me that bit of confidence. You can find the shade I received and others at superdrug.com for £6.49.

I also received:

The Kate Sculpting palette in 'Coral Bliss'.

Cara Delevingne, #FREEYOURFACE, contour, highlight, blush

I love how this is everything you need to help define your face. I loved trying this out as it is not something I would have necessarily have picked up for myself. I am so glad I have been able to try this. It is super handy that you can take it out in your bag for any on the go touch ups you wish to make.

Coral Glow, #FREEYOURFACE

I also love the fact it has a helpful guide on the back, so if your new to contouring and defining your face, you'll know exactly what to do. This also comes in another shade called 'Golden Bronze'. You can find 'Coral Glow' at boots.com for £6.99.

contour, highlight, bronze, blush, #FREEYOURSKIN

Last but not least is the Rimmel London Moisturing Lipstick in shade Vintage Pink.

#FREEYOURSKIN

I love this shade! It's perfect for autumn and it is super moisturising. This lipstick formula contains vitamins A, C and E. I love the smell of this to. There are so many different shade that you can choose from to. You can find 'Vintage Pink' and loads of other shades over at amazon.co.uk.

Vintage PInk, #FREEYOURSKIN

I thought I would finish with my finished look. (Excuse the selfie, I know, I look terrible!)

Dainty Dolls Closet Haul

Hi everyone,

My beautiful little girl Darcie is a brand rep for an Instagram shop called 'Dainty Dolls Closet'. Dainty Dolls Closet is an Instagram shop which sells handmade clothes from 0-5 years. They have their own designs and you can pop in custom requests to. Dainty Dolls Closet also offers 'Mummy and Me' skirts.

Recently Dainty Dolls held a market night on their Instagram, this means you can pick up things slightly cheaper, for example Dainty Dolls had skirt slots for around £5 and you could pick the size you were after. I absolutely love joining in with market nights, especially when it means you can grab a good bargain and pick up something you love but for a fraction of the cost.

So here's what I brought:

Dainty Dolls Closet

I love clothes from Dainty Dolls they are very well made and are just all round beautiful pieces. I love buying handmade clothes as each piece is unique, they can be custom made and you know that they have been made with love and care. I you are interested in anything Dainty Dolls have to offer
(including the beautiful crushed velvet skirts and leggings they have at the moment) head over to Dainty Dolls Closet on Instagram.
What is your favourite piece I brought for Darcie?

Baylis & Harding Pocket Hand Gel 50ml

Hi everyone,

I go through pocket hand gel like nothing else. It is unbelievably handy, if you'll excuse the pun. I've tried many different brands and most of which dry my hands out terribly. Until Baylis & Harding kindly sent me this one to try.

This is the Jasmine & apple blossom luxury hand gel with added moisturisers. So the product has said it itself, it has added moisturisers. So as you can probably tell I was elated when my hands felt lovely and soft instead of them feeling in complete need for moisture. All of this whilst killing 99.9% of bacteria.

So, why do I carry one with me everywhere?
  • I'm a Mum. Nappy changes and sticky fingers, I'm covered.
  • Money. One of the biggest germ carriers and we pretty much touch it daily!
  • Opening doors, another big germ carrier.
  • Toilets that have no soap left.
I could go on with things that harbour germs. So where can you leave this Baylis & Harding hand gel?
  • In the car
  • Handbag
  • Changing bag
  • Hand luggae
  • Your office
Any place that is out and about and you don't have access to hand soap, it's good to keep one near buy. This one is perfect, as it is a 50ml bottle it's completely travel friendly. Not to mention it smells lovely.

You can get this one off of Amazon for an amazing £3.95.

Where do you like to keep a pocket hand gel?

Keep on giving

Hi everyone,

I was recently asked the question 'what causes are close to your heart?' and it got my thinking. I am happy to be writing this post as I feel giving back is important and ways we can do this is by going to local events set up to support charities close to us (or just ones we like to support).

causes, money, donate, donations

What causes are meaningful to me?

To start with anything to with children. As a childcare professional and a Mum myself, I always donate to children's charities.

Secondly, anything to do with the elderly. Alzheimer's, dementia, just anything to support the elderly really.

Another is anything to do with animals. I will always donate to animal charities. As an example I used to sponsor a dog with Dog's Trust. It happened to be a birthday present to me as its what I wanted for my birthday.

I will also always donate to Help for Hero's and similar charities.

To be honest, I always donate to any charity no matter what they are raising money or awareness for. Even if I donate a penny or fifty pence I know that I have put something towards helping someone out there. It makes me feel like I have done something good and makes me feel a whole lot better, especially if I am having a bit of a rubbish day. There are so many charities I haven't mentioned above.

What causes are meaningful to my family?

To be honest the same as me. We donate wherever and whenever we can. I don't want to go into to much detail as I haven't asked my family if it is okay to write about who they donate to. I feel its personal and they may not want to talk about it and for that reason, they wouldn't want it going online.

What fundraising events have I attended?

I know I have attended many, but I cant remember every single one. One big one that I know a lot of people will know are the Macmillan coffee mornings. I always try to attend one and we used to hold one where I used to work. I have been to firework nights where they have been donating money to particular charities. In school we would host events for Red Nose Day, Sport relief and Children in Need.

What would I like to get more involved with?

I would love to do the race for life! I have always wanted to get involved with that. I would also like to hold my own events, like the Macmillan coffee mornings. I would also love to do something for Children in Need, you know when you see the people on TV holding the check with a great some of money? I would love for that to be me one day.

How you can get involved:

There are so many ways for you to get involved. At the supermarket entrances, at the end of a checkout, in the middle of your town centre you'll see people holding little pots. You can put your loose change in them. Or if your not out and about and would like to do something now, you can go online and donate on their official websites. You can host your own event or pop along to someone else's. You can even go along to the big events like Race for Life. This is where Eventbrite makes it easy. Search your town under charities and causes, all of the events you can attend are all in one place and you can buy your ticket there and then (some are even free!). Here are a few I have found that sound good to me in any area in the UK:

Bubble 5k- Northampton 2017

Wigan and Leigh 5k Colour Run

We're Going on a bear Hunt- Walberton

The Colour Fun Run 2017- Bristol

Open to All 5k Midnight Walk 2017- Glasgow
